These cards became a hit, driving UVU Training’s evolution. At UVU Training, we believe in learning from the best. Our coaching staff, made up of former professional, semi-pro, and collegiate athletes, is committed to guiding the next generation of champions. With a wealth of experience and a shared dedication to excellence, we empower young athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Founded in 2018, UVU Training helped soccer youth athletes to develop and hone their skills through traditional coaching services. However, after these sessions Skylar was frequently asked “what can my child do outside of training hours?” and so he developed worksheets for the kids to do at home but unfortunately they weren’t as engaging as he would have hoped…
One day while Skylar was playing cards with his teammates, a lightbulb went off and he thought of a way to make training at home more fun and engaging! The next day he hopped on Amazon, ordered a blank deck of playing cards and got to work. Combining his professional knowledge of the game with his old arts and crafts skills, Skylar created a fun yet comprehensive deck of cards designed to work on key techniques and skills.
Swapping the worksheets with the deck of cards was a major hit, his players and parents absolutely loved them! With a successful test run Skylar was confident he had a winning idea. Fast forward a year down the road and KickDeck was officially launched!

Skylar saw the impact it had on the soccer community and wanted to provide the same tools and support to other sports. Not long after the successful launch of KickDeck, Skylar went back to the drawing board. After long talks and countless meetings with basketball professionals, HoopDeck was born!
UVU Training currently provides 4 training decks and plans to expand its offerings into even more age groups, levels and sports!
